Closing Down Sale!

Welcome to Red Earth Scrapping!

You will recall way back in October I shocked many of you with an announcement about Red Earth Scrapping being offered for sale. Since that time I have had a few enquiries from people interested in the business, but sadly the timing is not right for them, and I have now made the decision to close Red Earth Scrapping.

This truly breaks my heart as it was less than 3 years ago I started the process of turning my dream into reality. I've put so much time and effort into the business - and honestly, have enjoyed it immensely - but in those few years our family circumstances have changed too, and I simply dont have the time and energy to put into RES. As you know, I married a farmer and have embraced all things about living and working on the land. My husband and I now run the family farm business which is quite an undertaking, and we have huge and exciting plans for our future. This is where I now need to focus my time and energies, along with being a wife and mother, and picking up work at the local highschool to supplement our income. Having somehow survived 10 years of drought, the farm business requires all our efforts to once again thrive, especially in such tough economic times.

November Mystery BOX

Hi everyone,

Another month, another mystery box challenge.... where i give you a set of ingredients to create a layout or project.

Thank you to all our wonderful and loyal friends that complete my challenge every month - I feel very THANKFUL to be part of a kind and sharing community, who want to have a go at my challenge each month. And I always LOVE seeing all the beautiful intepretations of the ingredients.

In the meantime... here are the ingredients so you can make a start- planning and preparing.

Please use the following ingredients in your page or project:
* Use the word "THANKFUL"
* Use Mini-prints (smaller photos - you can use cropped ones, if you cant print any)
* Use Ledger paper (eg. check out these LOVELY Prima collections in store - Ledger Pad #1 or Ledger Pad #2 - what a great price, for such wonderful versatile papers)
* Do journalling, in a LIST (eg. a list of things you are thankful for)

October Stash Stomper Challenge

Susanne's come up with a fabulous little mid-month challenge for us this month ...

Stuck in a rut creatively or maybe you've not got alot of time to create? Well here's a quick mid-month challenge that can hopefully get the mojo flowing & might even get you started on your Christmas cards or gift wrapping.

Create some cards or some sort of little gift box or bag, which you could possibly use to hold the cards or maybe some other small present for someone special.

 

I've made some cards which are just under 4 inches square to fit into a little pizza box. I used 1 sheet of white 12X12 C/S for the base of the cards, just under 1/2 sheet of kraft C/S plus 1/2 a sheet of black C/S for the pizza box.

The cards & top of the pizza box are decorated using the lovely Teresa Collins "Vintage Find" PP & stickers http://redearthscrapping.com.au/node/4959

OCTOBER Mystery BOX challenge

A day early.... in a few hours and I will be on a plane to Qatar. I am a Speech Pathologist and specialise in technology for students with disabilities. I have a contract to present 2 days of workshops to educators over there. What an amazing opporunity right? So thats my life - speechie by day, scrapper by night!

Here is this months challenge:

Please create a layout or project using the following core ingredients:

* Cardstock base
* Sticker words
* Hexagons
* Dimension - use elements and foam tape to make the layout pop!

You can add some staples from your stash, but these four ingredients must feature strongly!

Here are my samples (so inspired, that I made two layouts!)

Kraft base and wonderful Theresa Collins papers and stickers - perfect for scrapping a photo of me with her.

Important RES Announcement

"The time has come the walrus said ... for RES to move ahead."

After much soul searching and some serious debating (both practical and emotional), I have decided it is time to allow someone else to continue the Red Earth journey, and take my baby to the next level.

The last 2 & and half years have been the most wonderful experience - my dream of combining my passion of scrapbooking with a business venture became reality and flourished. I achieved my goal of creating a warm and friendly community, developing beautiful friendships and providing great products, at great prices with great service. The "work" is always enjoyable and easy to manage.

They say all good things must come to an end, but I see this as the next chapter for RES, and for myself. It's not the end, it's really the beginning, an opportunity for YOU to now take on the business and make it your own, take it further and keep Red Earth Scrapping alive and well in the industry.

It's time for me to focus on our farm business, our family and my new job.

So I now extend the invitation to you, and the Australian Scrapbooking community, and am calling for Expressions of Interest for the sale of Red Earth Scrapping.

We have an excellent online presence, an established name, image and fully functioning website, and a huge database of customers.
