A-Z Advent Calendar

Hi all, Amanda here.

So I couldn't quite decide how to make my A-Z advent calendar for our December competition at RES.  But I made a start and suddenly 2 projects evolved.  My favourite bit is that BOTH projects are fun and functional - things that I know I will use long after the competition has finished!

So I started putting mixed up chipboard alphas leftover from all those old sets  (I know you have some...)onto a sheet of chipboard

I painted each letter BLACK, I made sure that black paint went around the letters, so I could see the outline of the letter on the back piece of cardboard.

Then I misted and sprayed with the letters still in place....

Now I have TWO things... a cool alphabet board AND a-z letters...

I decided to use the awesome Alphabet board as my Advent calendar.... I will decorate each letter with a word, flower, bling, something little as I achieve each letter challenge.... I've done A and F currently!

BUT WHAT DID I DO WITH THE BLACK LETTERS????

Well, I made A-Z cards.... (so easy)

I stuck the Auslan Fingerspelling alphabet onto the backs of the cards...

I then presented in a cute box (the box was a perfume box from a gift i received for my birthday on the weekend - how lucky!)

COOL, huh? i love it when i make something useful!

Thanks for stopping by,
Amanda

HAPPY DUSTY WEEKEND!

Amanda here... Popping in with some inspiration for some simple layout ideas... all you need to do is... ADD DUSTY ATTIC CHIPBOARD!!! Head over to RES all weekend for ideas from the CT and don't forgot... 10% off DA chipboard! YAY!!!

Here are a collection of layouts I completed last weekend.
I made an album for a friend with some lovely professional photos she had done.  Used white cardstock base and scraps of paper and bits and pieces.  She loved it and I loved CREATING AND GIVING it!

First up....
I used this chipboard...
as a mask, with velum paper over it.  I may never use this pieces of chipboard, but instead save it to use as a mask - i love the effect!

For the boys, I used COGS... raw or inked.

On Lachlans page, I inked the cogs and the roller stamped over them for extra detail.

NEXT....ooooo.... I love Leafy Stems....
.... even better with ink and good old dimensional magic....

Here I used a doiley chipboard - cut in half, inked and clustered with flowers. So pretty!
 Mini Doily Set #1

Here are some more layouts to inspire:
MORE COGS....

More leafy stems....

Flutterbies - laser cut chipboard

Remember this one for OUR November Challenge,.. with cogs and twigs

This was a page I gave a Scrappy friend for her birthday (rather than a card or present) - used leafy stems.. inked and then wiped (rather than sprayed) some glimmer mist on too.

LOVE this clock!

Happy viewing, thanks for stopping by!

November NEWS....

Apparently it's only 38 days until the man in red pops down the chimney delivering presents ... are you ready for Christmas? Are you getting into the festive spirit yet?

Well, there's no more putting your head in the sand, Christmas really is just around the corner and here at RES we have the PERFECT sweet little competition to get you in the mood.

It's our Christmas A-Z!!!

A whole month of festive fun and inspiration. You dont have to be at all crafty to join in with this, it is something for absolutely EVERYONE so I invite you all to join in. Check out the forum and our Facebook group for all the details. You dont want to miss this, the creative team girls and I have been working hard behind the scenes and we are super excited to share with you all.

And while we're on the topic, have you visited the Christmas Shed yet? It's the section of the shop specially dedicated to all things festive ... go and have a browse here. Be quick though, stocks are selling out and once it's gone, that's it. You will be sure to need papers and pretties for those last minute cards and creative gifts.

Lastly, have you been doing our monthly challenges? I mentioned last newsletter that our entries have been a little on the quiet side however I am pleased to see a few more lovely layouts in the gallery this month. There is still plenty of time to get your entries in so make it your mission to join in at least one challenge for November - it will be the last of our challenges for this year so why not really get the gallery pumping.

So, til next time ...

happy shopping & happy scrapping!
