Happy Flower weekend!

Amanda here.... with some sketches and layouts to inspire you for the weekend.

Over at RED EARTH, all weekend there is 20% off all flowers, so you can save money and then get creative with some projects like these:

Sketch 1:
 And my layout....

White cardstock, with some misting - I used paper doilies as masks behind the photos (subtle!).
Then a stitched circle.
Then it was all about the flowers and leaves, layered around the circle. Flowers I used: Green tara roses and leaves, Prima polka dots, White Ada, Petaloo.
I used the Authentique text words to create the long (and slightly corny) title.
Hope you love it, I think it's kinda sweet, just like my friend Moira....

Sketch 2

Here's my layout:

Papers: Echo Park, these Glitz papers, this authentique paper
Ribbons and my usual clusters of bits!
The flowers weren't quite the right colour, so I painted them with silver ink and paint to make them match the colours of the layout. Flowers I used: Green Tara roses, Prima
I created this layout for the challenge over at 123 - so 1=word JOY (a word that describes my friend Michaela so well!); 2= colour SILVER; 3= paint splatters. Give it a go this weekend!

So have fun this weekend, hope you find some beautiful flowers to create with!

Thanks for looking!

Flower Power Product Focus

Hello there ladies, Liz here with a gorgeous pleated satin ribbon flower step by step so you can make some of these yourself.

Simple scrapbooking using RES goodies

Hi everyone - Amanda here....

I have been scrapbooking a lot of late and have a few layouts to share. They are all quick and easy layouts that you can do today (hint hint, nudge nudge), all using some of the great papers and products at Red Earth Scrapping.

I used the VERY versatile Graphic 45 Paper as the background -  and added misting (i used old chipboard numbers and punctuation as the masks) and embellishments... done! Paper found here: http://redearthscrapping.com.au/node/3526

I have some of these VERY SO CUTE journalling tags  -http://redearthscrapping.com.au/node/1548 - which were perfect for this layout... so easy! Used some of my flowers from our recent flower swap too!

I got these Prima ledger papers - http://redearthscrapping.com.au/node/3754 - and already have used some for background papers - so awesome and such great value....

And then how's this for quick.... used the diecuts from Authentique christmas line - http://redearthscrapping.com.au/node/3713 - some bling and a title and its done!

The very lovely BO BUNNY papers from the ETCera range - http://redearthscrapping.com.au/catalog/267 - feature in these 2 layouts.
I think you may find more of this in our new release page kits also.... http://redearthscrapping.com.au/node/4160

Alrighty then... that'll do for today...

you can check my blog for more inspiration.... http://talkandshare-amahart.blogspot.com/

Thanks for looking today... hope you can steal some time to whip up some quick and easy layouts today!

Happy Scrappy New Year - Challenge #5

The lucky last challenge of our happy scrapp new year competition Laughing

So the final thing I would love to see you create is a set of cards! (i.e. at least 2 on a common theme/style)

BUT, you can only use SCRAPS and odd bits and pieces.

The only exception to this is you may use ONE (1) new piece of cardstock (if necessary).

I cut 1 piece of c/s into 3 6x4 cards and I had some scraps on my desk from 2 old sheets of Bo Bunny paper - one of them was a few little greeting/journalling cards.
Then I reached into a little container that sits right in front of me where I put my odds & ends - a little strip of ribbon, a single flower left from a pack, a few bits of bling left from a packet etc.
And here's what I created ...

Oh and the white c/s? It is actually the back of the cover sheet from a 12x12 collection pack! Very handy indeed.

You can make them as simple or as detailed as you like, you can use any tools or accessories, c/s, papers and embellies AS LONG AS IT IS ALL SCRAPS/ODDDS & ENDS!

BONUS ... "love makes the world go round" ...

Upload your entries in the appropriate gallery by midnight on Sunday 15th January 2012. Have fu!
